Boo!

Happy Halloween! This post could have been called lots of thinks, like "Sick or Treat" or "All dressed up and no where to go". The girls and I all have colds and we are a gross, runny nose bunch. The major bummer is that we couldn't go to my work's Halloween party for the kiddies yesterday, or go visit Chris at work today like we were planning. But we still had to dress up in our costumes and have a photo shoot. Enjoy our little cheerleaders! (P.S. The last picture is not posed. Amazed at that one. Hailey is in the Patriots outfit, Riley in the Red Sox.)

Crazy crawling weekend at Lake George

We had a very fun and exciting weekend. Jade was headed to upstate NY for an au pair class, so we Sheehans decided to tag along. We took advantage of Lake George in the off season and had a nice weekend with Grandma Sandy. The girls were great travelers and despite a bit of rain on Saturday we all had a good time (and Jade did at her class too).

Here we are, eating out, again. We are getting the hang of eating out with 10 month old twins. Requires lots of gear and preparation.

Attacking Daddy and Dinner

The girls know where their toys and books are stored now, and like to empty the baskets of their contents as quickly as possible. They seem to make a much bigger mess when daddy is watching them. Perhaps he was a little distracted by the football game that was on the TV. Or they already know they can get away with more with daddy.

Where did all the toys go?? Riley, they're behind you. The box is empty.

The girls make a funny "mmumm, numm, numm" sound when they are eating something they like. In this instance it was cheese, although these are the two least picky eaters you can find. It was a chorus of content eating sounds during dinner tonight.

The Baby Cage

No, it's not really a baby cage, that's just what we like to call it. It's a Superyard XT (not sure why they try to make it sound like a car model), and it's great for containing very mobile babies when you have important things to do, like go to the bathroom. The girls don't seem to mind it.



Where is the other baby, you ask? Sleeping, thankfully, after having a very long, whiny afternoon. I know they always seem to be happy and smiling and very easy babies. Most of the time that is true. However, they do on occasion like to wear my nerves very very thin. Like all kids I'm sure, but I feel like we may be giving you the mistaken impression that they're never unhappy.

Also, it is rumored that Hailey crawled yesterday, but I still haven't seen it.

Welcome, Liam Richard!

Our good friends and avid blog readers Sarah and Bill have become the proud new parents of Liam Richard, born yesterday at 10:44 pm, weighing in at 8.8 lbs and measuring 21.6 inches. After over 27 hours of labor, I thought Sarah deserved a little shout out. And who knows, little Liam could be a future boyfriend to one of the Sheehan girls some day. Well, probably not, if Chris has anything to do with it.

Speaking of weigh ins, we had our overdue 9 month check up on Friday. Hailey is 19 lbs 2 oz and 28 1/2 inches. Riley came in at a strong 19 lbs 10 oz and 28 3/4 inches. It still amazes me that Riley has overtaken her sister by a half pound since she came into this world a half pound smaller. Both girls are smack in the 50th percentile on height and weight. Not bad for those little preemie peanuts who were born at a 1/4 the size they are now. The check up was filled with other delightful things such as flu shots and blood drawing, but I'll spare the gory details.

Baby Pull-ups

Riley pulled herself up from sitting to standing tonight using the new push toy that Grandma Gerry bought us last week. We're so proud! I'm pretty sure the girls are going to skip crawling; they get around perfectly fine by other means and might just go straight to walking! We tried to get a video of it, but she already did it twice before we got the camera out and was tired out.

Hailey figured out how to push up to sitting from her belly a couple of times today too. Big day! I think we really need to consider that whole baby proofing thing now.

Here are some pics from the park that Jade took today. They look so different than the beginning of the summer when Erin first put them in the swings. They're not little lumps in the big swing anymore!

Long time, no post

Sorry it has been over a week since we've posted!

Here's a nice shot of the sun rising over Boston from the harbor. Why do I have a picture of the sun rising over Boston from the harbor? Because we chartered a fishing boat and went fishing for stripped bass at 7am on Saturday. It was coooold, but fun. We did not take the girls, just a couple of our friends. Caught lots of fish but unfortunately only one big enough to keep (and it was very tasty).

There hasn't been a lot going on this week. The girls are getting to be very skilled finger food eaters and now regularly munch on peas, pasta, carrots, cheese and cheerios, so far. Apparently we are only giving them food that starts with a 'p' or 'c'.

The girls were talking and laughing with each other on the couch while waiting to go for a walk tonight before dinner.

Also had a visit from Grandma Susan & Grandpa Tom today. Lots of fun!!
