Happy Thanksgiving

Hailey finally loses a tooth!

Hailey had to wait a whole 3 months and 1 day after her sister for that first tooth to finally let go.  When I got home tonight, I jokingly told her it was ready and she should just pull it out - and she did!  And just like when Riley lost a tooth and Hailey was overjoyed, Riley was just as excited tonight for her sister.  Riley then said to Hailey how "cool" it is that "all the grown up things, like losing your first tooth and getting your ears pierced, all happen when you're five!"  Who knew?

Big weekend 'o ear piercing!  Riley got them done on Saturday.  I just mentioned it when we were at the mall and she was all in and didn't look back.  She barely flinched; after she was done, she thought they hadn't even done it yet! 

Hailey at first said she didn't want to get them done, but by today she'd changed her mind.  Unfortunately, if anyone was going to have tears, it would be Hailey; so of course, if one of the ear piercers had to misfire, it was with Hailey.  So we had about 20 minutes of screaming between getting ear #1 pierced and ear #2.  Once she finally decided to finish, she didn't cry!  Figures.  But it's done, and she's thrilled!

Both girls picked out a few pairs of earrings to get as Christmas presents, since that's right about when they will be able to change them!  They are already being very responsible and taking great care of them!

Super Scary Halloween

The girls were a Vampire (Riley) and her Vampire Bat (Hailey) this year.  First, Riley drew her design for her cape...she was very specific about a red & green inside and black outside, as you can see from her drawing:

Last Day of Soccer & Post Soccer Orchard Trip

Saturday was the last day of soccer, and it ended much better than it started!!  The girls improved tremendously and even had one week with absolutely no tears.  That was really the best we could hope for.

 We followed soccer with a great trip to the orchard.  What a beautiful fall weekend!

We capped off the weekend today with a nice pre Tractor Parade brunch with Ethan & Meaghan and then enjoyed a beautiful sunny Tractor Parade!  Unfortunately, I forgot the camera.  At least we had it yesterday!

A Happy Artist

Hailey's Kindergarten teacher emailed me this picture.  The improvements in coloring, writing, and painting for both girls have been huge in the last 6 weeks! Not to mention the math they're figuring out on their own.  They declared to me first thing one Saturday morning, "mommy, we figured out 'minus'! 10+10-2 is 18!"  We're in trouble.
