Riley

Evil Doctors

This may have something to do with the flu shots they got yesterday.

Snack time

Yogurt faces. Riley started laughing when she saw the picture of herself, so I thought I should share. They're starting to get the hang of this posing thing.

New Camera

My Christmas present this year is a fancy new camera (yes, I opened it early). I take enough pictures, I figured it was time for an investment. I still have some learning to do, but so far, so good.

First birthday celebration...of the year so far.

It's become tradition that the Michigan side of the clan give the girls their birthday presents at Thanksgiving, so we had a mini-party last night with the 9 of us. The girls got a lot of great games now that they're in the age 3 and up category and will be well entertained through the long cold Vermont winter ahead.

Playing together, as they're apt to do:

They had a bit of left over cake tonight and made us sing happy birthday again. We're in for a loooong month of birthday celebrations!

Funny side story: We have a tendency to dress Hailey in pink, and Riley in purple. We have for a long time, and now that they're a little older, they claim that those are their favorite colors. Yesterday they girls decided they wanted to wear each others' sweatshirts in the morning, so we gave it a try. Chris and I were so messed up that we made them switch back after about 20 minutes. We thought they were easy to tell apart, but apparently we rely so much on their "usual" colors that it's a lot harder than we thought. I don't know what the moral of this story is, but I'm a little freaked out by it.

Success!

Well, third year is the charm apparently. I'm so happy to have a good Santa picture!

We're in NY at Grandma Sandy's for Thanksgiving, and cousin MacKenzie is glued to the girls! They're having a blast. Here they are yesterday making (and eating) fruit salad for Thanksgiving dinner. We caught you Hailey!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to you, our loyal blog readers!

They're famous!

Ok, maybe "famous" is a slight overstatement, but the girls did make the Burlington Free Press, print and online, for Halloween!

Click here for the Burlington Free Press: They're in pictures 3, 4 & 6.

A Beautiful Saturday in VT

We put them to work yesterday. Never too early for that, right?

Success!

The room looks so bare now without the tall cribs, the converted toddler beds are so little!

Leaps and Bounds

So potty training took a whole 2 weeks, maybe less. We're already leaving the house and taking naps without pull ups! I don't know what I was so worried about.

The girls have been so good and grown up lately, with the potty training and just in general. Just in the last few weeks, they've gone hour-long stretches where they totally entertain each other without any fighting, and we can sit back and watch (or make dinner). It's amazing and often hysterical to watch. Their imaginations are something else.

Thus, we've decided to reward them with big girl beds. Tonight is night #1...they're taking a while to fall asleep (nothing new, they usually talk awhile) but they haven't gotten up yet! Wish us luck, again!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! Grandpa Tom and Grandma Susan came for the weekend. We went out to dinner on Saturday.
