This was the best part of my birthday this year...the 95 times in a row that the girls sang "Happy Birthday" to me. (That, and the giant running dive-hugs while shouting "Happy Birthday Mommy!" when I got home from work.)
This really was just about the 10th time they sang and blew out the candles. Notice we were still going, even after the cake was half gone...

First Haircut!

The girls did awesome yesterday! Hailey went first (at Riley's request) and they both sat very still for their 30 second hair cut (they still don't have much hair!). They were very proud of themselves. In addition to enjoying their first hair cut, they also enjoyed their first lollipop! I'm so proud of them. While it may not look like there's not that much difference, there's much less crazy-hair today. And hopefully this will help it grow a little faster.

Sweet Valentines
Post 3 of 3 for tonight! This might be a record for me.
Hailey & Riley received a popcorn Valentine decorating kit from Grandma Gerry and Grandpa Scott last week. While they weren't allowed to eat much of it, they certainly had fun decorating them.

Finished product - I left out the picture of our dining room floor covered in tiny Red Hots.
We had all our Valentine fun Friday night, then early Saturday morning Chris and I went on a two-day get-away to NYC with Josh & Kristina. It was a very romantic way to spend Valentine's Day. ;)
In tourist-y Times Square.
We had a great time - thanks for taking us and being our tour guides J&K! It was the first time in a year we have been away from the girls. Last time was 51 weeks ago for my birthday! Man does time fly...that same weekend Riley took her first steps.
The girls also had a great time while we were gone. Arlinda took them to the aquarium, which is probably their favorite place in the world right now. They love the whales, turtles and "pen-gins", and they got to touch crabs and starfish!

Better Late than Never
As a Christmas present for me and Chris, Erin had her photography major cousin take photos of the girls. She had some of them printed and framed for us. The rest I sorted through and made this slide show. Even though the pictures are now over 2 months old, they are still pretty awesome.
It's Friday night and we're not doing anything, so I'm catching up on my blogging and all those videos I promised. More to come soon. And we might take the girls to get hair cuts for the first time tomorrow (yikes!!) so stay tuned for that.

One for you, one for me
As you might imagine with twins, the girls have many duplicate items and toys. They well know by now that if there are two of the same toy, that means "one each - one for Hailey and one for Riley", in order to avoid any squabbles.
So tonight at the dinner table the girls were discussing their grandparents and naming all of them. Riley says, as if she just came to the most amazing realization, "Grandpa Tom, Grandpa Scott. Two grandpas. One each! One for Hailey, one for Riley!"
I asked her which one was Hailey's and which one was Riley's, but she already knows better than to choose.
Here's a picture of Hailey in her pajamas watching bread bake on Sunday morning. Our easily amused children are currently obsessed with "making bread machine". It's ok though, there's been a lot more fresh bread in the house lately and I don't hear anyone complaining.

On the go
We had a great weekend with the girls this weekend. Friday, Grandma Gerry and I took them to the Children's Museum in Easton, which is a nice alternative (aka cheaper) to the Boston Children's Museum, aimed at the younger crowd. The pictures below were taken there (on my phone because I forgot the camera - sorry about that).
Saturday they went to their first kiddie birthday party, for Quinn, the three year old son of one of my coworkers, which was held at the the Inside Playground in Watertown. All weekend they wanted to sing "Happy Birthday" to Queeeeeeeeen (that's how they say Quinn).
Then a trip to Ikea, which is just as fun as any playspace you can find. Sunday was swimming at the Y.
So very busy for the Sheehans, and I just realized this post reads like a "Where to take your two year old in Boston" guide!
