Dry

Last weekend = wet. This weekend, so far = dry. I think our luck will not hold tomorrow, but today was awesome.

We took the girls to a free demo art class this morning at the same studio that we've taken music classes before. The girls had a blast (and got to use scissors!) but we probably won't be signing them up. Still, there was artwork to show off:

Then we did a little shopping and had a great al fresco lunch. We picked up these rocking sunglasses for the girls. I wasn't sure how they'd go over, but the biggest problem we had was getting them to take them off when we got home! We pretty quickly had to institute a "no wearing sunglasses in the house" rule just to get them to do anything other than walk around the house showing off!

Here they are, practicing their best "aloof celebrity in sunglasses" faces.

Wet

That's the theme of the weekend - wet! Rain, rain and more rain. But we didn't let it slow us down. Friday the girls spent the day with Erin and her friend Heather (or "Feather" as they seem to call her) and gave me a much needed day off. Yesterday we went to the Museum of Science and today we went swimming at the Y, in keeping with the wet theme. Despite a recent attack of the terrible twos and skipping naps a few days in a row, we had a really fun weekend.

Here is a conversation with Riley this evening during dinner. I just like the way she says "tortilla". She requests tortilla often, but I'm not even sure she likes it that much. I think she just likes to say it too!

Happy Almost-Spring

Wow, what a nice weekend. We spent a lot of time outside. We are fortunate to live on a street with not one, not two, but THREE other 2-year-old girls!! That's FIVE two-year-old girls, on a street with only about 17 houses on it. And that's it for little kids on the street, the next closest set of kids are three teenaged brothers a few doors down. One of the girls is only 3 days older than Hailey and Riley, one is one month older, and one is 9 months older (almost 3, but she's still 2 at the moment!). The almost-3-year-old and her parents just moved to the street in November, and I have a feeling their house is going to be the new street hangout this summer! All four families were in their backyard today, and for the most part, all the girls got along. The parents did for sure!

Here are a few random photos for the week. Enjoy!
