The Walking Box

We have the walking spoon, now we have the walking box. Last week, Riley was playing with an empty box, and decided to run laps around the house with it. Not sure why, but she went around several times, most of the time yelling while doing it (so don't put your volume up too loud!). This kid is getting speedy!

Hailey's walking improved by leaps and bounds this weekend. Almost like she has been able to do it for the last two months since her first step, but just chose not to!

We had another visit by Grandpa Tom and Grandma Susan this weekend, and as usual Grandpa took a ridiculous number of pictures. But also as usual, he got some great ones. So many in fact, I decided to put them all on the web gallery (click here). Enjoy!

The Walking Spoon

Two posts today! Scroll down for the second. Blogger only lets me load 5 images at a time and I just had more than that I wanted to share today.

Riley has taken to walking around with her "walking spoon" (as Chris and I call it), which is a ladle from the kitchen. She walks extremely well now, but the spoon seems to help the confidence a little.

Here she is strolling into the living room. If she's in the living room, and you ask her where her spoon is, she will go find it in the kitchen and bring it to you. (It lives in the cubby hole under the kitchen island now.)

Playspace

Last Friday, Erin came to visit for the day and we took the girls to the kids play space in the Atrium Mall in Newton. Chris and I "discovered" this play space a few weeks ago and love it for those cold or rainy days. Much better than the insanely mobbed one at the Natick Mall (and closer), this is smaller and has more kids their age. There is lots of room for Riley to practice her running! The day Erin and I went must have been a twins group meeting because there were 3 other sets of twins! Here are some cute pics Erin took. The girls had a blast, and loved seeing their Erin of course.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A day late...but it's never too late to celebrate your Irishness! Festive attire courtesy Grandma Susan. Thanks Grandma Susan!

Hard to get a pic of this one, she's always on the move these days. But here's a drooly, snotty Riley:

Hailey, starting to walk and so proud!

It Runs in the Family

Grandma Sandy just sent us this picture of Chris as a kid. When she was here last week, she said Riley has a little smile that reminded her of an old picture of Chris. (I call it a smirk - he still does it.) Since everyone says they look like me, Chris is happy to have some proof that at least one of the twins is his. The funny thing is that, while I do think he and Riley look alike (especially the last picture of her in the wagon), I don't think Hailey looks like him at all! And yes, they really, truly, honestly are identical.

What do you think?

Spring Tease

Since we're all feeling better and we had 60 degree and sunny weather today, we broke out the new wagon the girls got for their birthday. We took a ride down to the park and played for a bit. This is one fancy wagon, complete with seatbelts, cup holders (for kids and parents) and lots of storage space (and other accessories we haven't tried out yet, like a canopy). Thanks Grandma Gerry and Grandpa Scott, we're going to get a lot of use out of it this summer!

On the mend

I have absolutely no new photos, unless you count the one Chris took on Thursday of Hailey's vomit (don't ask). I'm not going to post that one.

We have been one sick house this week, and I feel very bad this all came during Grandma Sandy's visit. But I am so very glad she was here! Hailey woke up with a 102+ fever on Wednesday morning that lasted until Friday afternoon. She is back to her old self this morning thank goodness! Riley and I have been battling coughs and colds, and Chris has had a little cold himself.

Riley is a walking machine. Miss Hailey has some serious catching up to do, losing three days of walking practice!

I fixed the video from the last post, for all those that pointed out it wasn't working. Thanks!

A bona fide toddler

Riley has definitely crossed whatever line separates infant from toddler, her preferred method of mobility is much less crawling and much more walking this week. I'm happy and sad. At least I still have one non-walker, but probably only for another week or two, since Hailey's interest in walking has increased as well. Man, this is going to be a fun summer. I cannot wait to see them running around the yard and the park.

Super Silly Sisters

These kids never cease to amaze and crack us up. Here's Hailey, chatting on the phone, already. I thought they were supposed to be teenagers before this starts?

Jade has jetted off to Miami and Chicago for a well deserved and much needed week of vacation. Grandma Sandy has come to fill in the role of nanny for the week. The girls are very excited and took no time at all to warm up to Grandma, despite not having seen her since Christmas. Here's a video of them being very goofy and showing off for her tonight.

Poop!

Add another word to the repertoire, this time for both girls. That would be "poop". As in:

Q: "[Enter baby's name here], do you have a poopie?"
A: "Poop! Poop!"

It does not necessarily mean they actually have one.

Here are the girls having a little snuggle moment while watching a baby dvd:
