A sad farewell

This past Thursday we saw our good friend and family member Jade head back to her home in South Africa. It was a very sad day for all of us. Jade has been such an important part of the girls' lives for more than half the time they've been alive. She's taught them so much and loved them like her own family.

We know that she is going to do great things and we are so thankful that she was part of our lives.

We love you Jade!

Hailey and Riley are going to miss cuddling with their Jade!

Some pictures

I know, I'm behind in posting. I'll catch up soon. Here are few pictures that were hanging out on the camera:

Cute stuff

Yesterday morning, the girls decided it was time for their animals to learn to read. So all by themselves, they set up a dog, a doll, and a bear in their rocking chairs with a couple of books. Hailey then stood and turned the pages for her bear while the bear read the book. They were so proud of themselves. And I was too. I love watching their little imaginations bloom!

Weekend

For our non local readers, it's hot. It's muggy. It's August in Boston. Ugh. We spend a lot of time inside, or if the girls are lucky, outside in whatever water we let them play in. We spent the entire weekend doing the following:

Sitting in the baby pool:

Taking a break from the baby pool to go on a nature treasure hunt:

Taking inventory of our treasures:

And moving very little:
