Girls' Weekend

Chris went away for a boys' weekend last weekend, so Grandma Gerry came and we had a very fun girls' weekend!   We got Halloween costumes ready, went to a big library sale, a princess tea party, Pizza Putt (a indoor playspace/arcarde/money suck "restaurant", we made the mistake of asking the girls what their favorite restaurant was), and a new farm nearby for pumpkin & raspberry picking with a corn maze!

In other news, our house guest is now a family member.  Blog, officially meet Mansfield. Mansfield, meet blog readers.   He came to visit and never left.  Shocking to everyone I'm sure.  He's a good little kitty.  (And the girls' recent allergy test informed us they are both allergic to dogs, which finally got Chris to stop bugging me about getting a dog.  Mansfield is his consolation prize.)

And lastly, we said good bye to No No the fish this week.  It was a good year and a half, fish, you will be missed.  (Ne Ne died about a week after we got her.)  No No's death could possibly be attributed to the above mentioned new pet, but he got rid of all the evidence.

Gymnastics

The girls started gymnastics last week which they were sooo excited about and now love sooo much.  I don't think they realized that it's a weekly thing because they positively freaked out (in a good way) when I said we were going again this week.  Here are pictures of them getting ready last Friday, doing their interpretation of some gymnastics poses!

A Beautiful Day at the Orchard

September is flying!  These are already 2 weeks old.  We were out of town last week for a wedding, but we had fun at Shelburne Orchard a few weeks ago!

Hiking & Hoola-hooping

End of summer hike on Lake Champlain
I recently got the girls a few hula hoops at the drugstore.  Took a little teaching but they're starting to get the hang of it.  Jump ropes are tricky too.  We have a few more years before we get all that coordination down (I still haven't!).  Arms and legs have a tendency to get in the way.

More MA Trip

Waterslides and water jumping!

A few videos of the girls jumping off Auntie Sandy's "jumping board".  Man, were they proud.

First up, Riley:

And Riley's twisty jump, which scared the bejeezus out of me (also because I didn't have my glasses on and was certain she was less than an inch from the board!):
