Who Needs a Playroom When You Have a Bathroom?

Our new house is set up really well for kids and guests - the basement is completely finished and holds a 2nd living room, a guest room and a HUGE guest bathroom (unfairly much bigger than our main bathroom upstairs). The living room is actually the girls' playroom, which is nice because we can confine the toys to the basement. But this bathroom, let me tell you, it's huge. And carpeted, and the warmest room in the house because it's also the location of the furnace (a nice feature with the recent outside temps). But the best feature, at least according to a 3-year-old? The raised platform in front of the shower that doubles as a "stage".

Can you guess where I'm going with this? I spend a lot of time sitting on the bathroom floor these days. There are worse things, but some days after an hour of sitting there I think, "it's just a little odd that we're hanging out in the bathroom, isn't it?" (Especially on Grandma Sandy's most recent visit and we were ALL in the bathroom.)

On the particular day pictured below, the girls were having a lazy pajamas kind of day, and decided to put on a performance in the bathroom. They loaded up their school bus with little people (bus partially blocked by Hailey in the photo), "drove" it into the bathroom, unloaded it, and performed for their own little people audience, taking turns singing, dancing, and whatever else struck their fancy on stage.

So at least til spring, you can find me in the bathroom...
