The next day we went to the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec, across the river from Ottawa. If you're ever in that area, I highly recommend it. The Children's Museum part of it is awesome.

Vrrroom!
Unfortunately, the stomach bug that had been going around daycare hit Hailey smack in the middle of the Children's Museum (literally...unfortunately for us and everyone around us. But the staff was really nice). Which is why most of the pictures above are of Riley. Here's what Hailey was doing, when she wasn't napping on me on a bench:
Poor kid. Fortunately for her, it was a very quick bug. We cut the Canadian portion of our trip a little shorter than expected, and continued our adventure down to Grandma Sandy's. The night we got to Grandma's the bug hit Riley and it hit her hard. She was sick for 2 full days. Turns out she's the sweetest, most polite sick girl on the planet. What a trooper. On the bright side, Grandma got to keep us longer than anticipated because we didn't feel Riley was ready to hop in the car to go home when we'd planned. Also - Happy Birthday Grandma Sandy! Great present we gave her, huh? A house full of germs.
All is well now. We're hoping the grown ups continue to avoid the bug. And I hope we didn't give it to too many relatives on the trip! We really did have a great trip and Chris had a nice vacation - even if some of us had to sit out portions of it.
Chris is back to work today. But don't feel too bad for him - he has tomorrow morning off so he can go to Montpelier and get sworn in as a an attorney in the state of Vermont!
