One Year

Today is our 364th day in Vermont as a family! Chris started his job last July and the girls and I moved up August 16th last year (and kidnapped Erin for the week to help us move in). This has been a great year, and we are so happy we made the move. Lots has happened and the girls have gotten so big. Need proof? See Exhibit A - the hike we took in May 2010...

...and the hike we took this weekend:

Hailey pretending to be one of the many spiders we saw on the hike (and Riley looking appropriately scared):

So this weekend we: visited a family favorite, Shelburne Farms; went to the Addison County Fair and rode a Ferris Wheel (which the girls loved!); took a 1.5 mile round trip hike to a beach on Lake Champlain (the girls didn't have to be carried even once); had dinner outside on Church Street; got haircuts; and went to a Pig Roast for the town Fire Department! How's that for an action packed 3 days?

Here they are harvesting the 2 cucumbers from the plant on the back porch (and pretending they are mustaches):

Haircuts! Bangs! Oh my!

Since Chris can't do a ponytail to save his life, we thought bangs might be best.

Here's Riley cutting a rug at the Pig Roast. I told her there would be music, so all day she asked when were we going to the Dance Party:

More pics to come, including some taken by Hailey and Riley themselves! Here's to many more years in Vermont!
