Cake cake cake!

We are in the process of writing the birthday post, so you just have to be patient a little while longer. In the meantime I wanted to do an advertisement for my friend Kristen that did our fantastic birthday cakes. You may have noticed a new blog on the left, "Let Them Eat Cake." (Warning: reading her blog will make your mouth water and set off an insatiable craving for cake and other baked goods.) Kristen is a software engineer by day and baker of beautiful and delicious cakes by night. She has probably made nearly a half dozen cakes for first birthday parties for people at work this month alone and without fail, everyone raves about them. Several of our party goers said that it was the best carrot cake they've ever had. So if you are in the Boston area and are in the cake market, let me know and I'll put you in touch!

She did a tiered carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for the adults, and 2 chocolate cakes with buttercream frosting for the birthday girls! You can also see better pictures of the cakes on her blog.
