Pirate Festival

Sunday we went to the Kids' Pirate Festival at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Despite the rain, it was a fun time. Riley said she wasn't going to be a pirate, just look at pirates. She had a change of heart after all the pirate crafts and said she turned into a real pirate!

(Riley's in the pink shirt this time, under the sweatshirt. They "teased" us on Sunday.)

Arrrrr!

Don't mess with this pirate.

I have a feeling you'll be seeing more Lake Champlain Maritime Museum pictures after next weekend - Grandpa Tom is coming for Father's Day and it's definitely his kind of thing!

Saturday we took advantage of Free Fishing Day in VT (no license needed) and hit Shelburne Bay to try out the girls' Mickey Mouse fishing poles they got for Christmas. They had a blast! Riley caught 6 fish! (It very well could have been the same fish 6 times.) Hailey caught one, but lost 3 worms in the process. We just couldn't hook all the nibbles. They had so much fun though, even throwing them back in.

(If you look very closely, you can see a tiny fish to the right of Riley's yellow shoe!)
