Same but Different

We are often asked about the personality differences of the girls.  I think often times with twins there is a dominant twin, louder twin, more aggressive twin.  What's funny about our girls is that there really is not.  They take turns - often switching within minutes.  For example, people see this picture, and think that Riley is more aggressive:

But then they see this picture, taken within seconds of the first:

And they each do their fair share of stealing borrowing the toy the other is playing with.

While they do have unique personalities, it is very hard to categorize them.  Take their baby "firsts" for example, they have taken turns doing things "first" since the beginning (although they first smiled within minutes of each other).

Things Hailey has done first:
Rolled over
Jumped up and down (screeching) in the exersaucer
Clapped
Chewed her toes
Used a sippy cup (still not mastered by either of them, but at least Hailey doesn't spit out whatever is in it)
Fed herself baby toast (without immediately throwing it on the floor)
Said "dadadadadadadadadadada"

Things Riley has done first:
Had a full on belly laugh
Sat up by herself
Travelled across the room by rolling
Grew teeth
Caught on to solid food
Understood "up" and put her arms up to be lifted
Played peek a boo

Riley is right now desperately trying to crawl, so we think she will do that first, but we also thought she would roll first and didn't.  You just can't tell with these girls!

And speaking of clapping, here is a little video for ya of some naked babies clapping.  Hailey has been clapping for about a week, Riley just figured it out today and was doing it nonstop.  I was trying to get both of them to do it at the same time, but it turns out that's nearly impossible!

And finally, here is a picture of Hailey's new teeth (if you look very very very closely at the bottom):
